Country Sunset assisted living by Preferred Assisted Living and Respite Care is southern New Mexico’s newest assisted living facility. Located in the beautiful village of Hatch, our 7,000+ square foot facility is situated on 8 acres of beautiful countryside. We’re large enough to offer the full range of assisted living care, while small enough to provide personal service in a home-like environment.

At Country Sunset, your elderly loved one will enjoy the outdoors and fresh country air as they take advantage of the walking and wheelchair paths, sitting areas, and half-acre pond stocked with fish. The orchard provides blossoms in the spring and shade in the summer, and residents will enjoy caring for the plants in the garden.

Besides a diverse and socially engaging menu of activities, events and outings, Country Sunset also holds monthly themed lunches and barbecues. In the past, we’ve had lively lunches celebrating:

• Visits from Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops
• The largest green chile festival in the world — the Hatch Chile Festival

Building Amenities

Country Sunset was green-built specifically for senior care and features the latest in air movement and cleanliness technology (along with special carpet) for seniors with breathing issues.

Each oversized and handicap-accessible room features:

• A private, full bathroom
• Individualized heating and cooling units to accommodate each resident’s temperature preferences
• A foyer at the entrance to each room (Residents are encouraged to personalize the foyer with photos of family members, loved ones and pictures or art unique to them)

Each room also includes large picture windows so that residents can enjoy fresh country air and scenic views of the Hatch landscape unique to each room.

Should you or another family member or family care giver who doesn’t live in the area wish to have an extended visit, Country Sunset keeps rooms open for you to stay.

Assisted Care Amenities

Assisted living is for seniors who want to live as independently as possible, but still need senior-focused assistance and support services due to age, mild afflictions such as mild dementia or physical ailments.

At Country Sunset, we offer a full range of support services for your loved elderly loved ones:

As the newest assisted living facility in Southern New Mexico, Country Sunset gives family care givers the option of keeping elderly loved ones close instead of sending them to bigger cities. Apart from our own full-service senior assistance and medical services, your loved one will have access to the local medical complex. Only 40 minutes away, Las Cruces offers two large hospitals if your loved one should ever need emergency care. Veterans will also be able to take advantage of veteran’s services from the Veterans Hospital in nearby Truth or Consequences.
