At Preferred Assisted Living and Respite Care, we provide comprehensive elder care options for the elderly and their families when life circumstances become too much to handle alone. As dedicated elder care specialists, we provide the following elder care options as part of our commitment to improve and encourage independent and more meaningful living for the elderly:
Private In-Home Care
At Preferred Assisted Living and Respite Care, we know that there is a difference between needing a little help preparing meals and requiring 24-hour care. That is why we provide in-home care to assist elderly patients with laundry, cooking, bathing and toileting activities to ensure that they are able to stay in their own home as long as life circumstances allow. We also provide 24-hour in-home service for those individuals that require more supervision and need assistance with all of the activities of daily living.
We assist the elderly with activities of daily living and help them age in place in a warm home environment. Our residences comfortably accommodate 8-15 residents and our ratio of caregivers far exceeds state requirements. Though we are a small elder care company, we provide comprehensive elder care through all of the stages of elderhood: from needing light assistance with the activities of daily living to end-of-life care.
Hospice is a type of care that helps ease the difficulties faced by people and their families at the end of life. Trained hospice professionals comfort elderly individuals and help them cultivate their inner strength of spirit to face what is to come. They also provide help to families grieving the loss of their loved one. At Preferred Assisted Living and Respite Care, we have formed partnerships with several reputable hospice organizations and we will help you arrange hospice care to support you through this transition.
Sometimes elderly individuals just want some company—whether for socialization, security, or simply to relieve boredom. At Preferred Assisted Living and Respite Care, we offer companion care to the elderly to help prevent the loss of independence, freedom and friendship that so often occurs when people reach a certain age.
Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
At Preferred Assisted Living and Respite Care, we are knowledgeable of Alzheimer’s and dementia and the physical and mental effects these diseases have on the elderly. Our elder care professionals are dedicated to providing Alzheimer’s and dementia care in a residential setting so that patients receive the calming, comforting benefits of being at home. As a supporter of the Alzheimer’s Association, we take part in rigorous in-services each month to keep our caregivers knowledgeable about the newest Alzheimer’s and dementia research, drug and non-drug treatments.
At Preferred Assisted Living and Respite Care, we are committed to helping the elderly live confidently and age gracefully. Through our many comprehensive services, we strive to improve the lives of the elderly and strengthen their spirits with physical assistance and friendship.
